Head West, Young Trick or Treater

Residents advise Malibu West is the best trick-or-treating area.

This week on Facebook, we asked our Malibu Patch page followers to share their favorite spot for trick-or-treating.

The number one spot? Malibu West. The 1960s housing tract has become the go-to spot in the area, but beware: It's a gated/guarded community.

Don't fret too much if you didn't happen to get an invitation. There are plenty of other exciting activities planned for the day. Here are a couple:

The "Maliboo" Country Mart will host trick or treating from 4 to 6 p.m. at participating stores (look for a Halloween balloon). A children's costume contest will follow at 6 p.m. See more details here.

There will be a special story time and costume parade through Point Dume Village for young readers at Bank of Books at 10:30 a.m. Children can trick-or-treat at the store all day, according to this Patch article.

And there's even activities for adults, like the Halloween party at the Sunset Restaurant. Come in costume and dance to rock and blues. Happy hour is from 5 to 8 and there's no cover.

Wherever you choose to go and whatever you choose to do tonight, Malibu Patch wishes you a safe and fun Halloween.
