Grapes, Vineyards, Views Surround Malibu Estate

At an elevation of 2,000 feet in the Santa Monica Mountains, this Tuscan-style estate offers views of parklands and the Pacific Ocean.

Expansive hillsides of award-winning vineyards are the view on a drive up Kanan Dume Road from Pacific Coast in Malibu.

Up a 350-foot driveway at an elevation of more than 2,000 feet in the Santa Monica Mountains, lies the Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards and a Tuscan villa.

The home features an imported French limestone exterior and Baja Redlands roof tiles. It offers nearly 9,000 square feet of living space. The comforts include five fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, heated floors, exposed beam ceilings, elevator access to all three floors, an observation deck and several balconies.

This home designed by esteemed architect Bob Easton, AIA offers five bedrooms and five baths. It also features expansive outdoor living spaces. The location offers 360-degree panoramic views of the ocean and vistas of parklands. This award winning estate consists of more than 37 acres. What makes this property rare is that due to current building codes and coastal restrictions, it’s unlikely that this estate and style of wine can ever be replicated.

The property encompasses an Egyptian limestone deck of approximately 5,000 square feet surrounding the exquisite infinity pool, spa, and outside loggia – as well as a wine tasting room with adjacent barrel storage. The estate also includes acres of terraced vineyards and lush rolling hillsides filled with orchards of approximately 75 citrus trees and 50 fruit and nut trees. There are two additional pads for future guest and guard houses.

Sally Forster Jones with Coldwell Banker and Drew Fenton with Hilton & Hyland are the listing agents for this property. Forster Jones said: “Vineyards are a special niche. They are sought after by those who enjoy wine-tasting, pouring their own wines for guests and who are looking for profits from a turnkey, award-winning operation. Rocky Oaks is an incredibly special property in a picturesque Malibu location."

This estate home and vineyard is currently listed for sale at $43 million. For more information contact Sally Forster Jones at 310-281-3999, showings@sallyforsterjones.com or Drew Fenton can be reached at 310-858-5474, drew@drewfenton.com. Click here to learn more about this Malibu Vineyard Estate

Overdesigned and overpriced estate might be nicely detailed, but it is poorly sited, on the crest of a hill, marring the landscape. Every time driving Kanan you are reminded of the imperious bad taste of the one percent.

would not like to be there in santa anna winds. what an eyesore. that is the kind of development the coastal commission should have put the brakes on. within 10 years the sm mountains will unfortunately be vineyards everywhere. this has an impact on wildlife, and is ecological dangerous in the rainy season when the vineyards are in hibernation.
