If you haven’t been to the Malibu Farmers Market lately you’re missing out every Sunday enjoying the booths laden with Certified Organic cherries, bok choy, exotic and domestic mushrooms, asparagus, heirloom tomatoes and surprisingly, the farmers market was slightly less expensive pound for pound, on average, for almost every item including apples, potatoes, baby carrots, spinach, tomatoes compared to the local supermarkets.
Regulars at the Market each Sunday voiced increasing interest in foods that aren't trucked or flown in from thousands of miles away.
“It’s a great way to stay connected with the community,” says Ken Knopka, “and pricewise I am eating well and paying less, we are foodies seeking just-picked produce.”
