Emergency Preparedness Network Meeting at Duke's this Thursday Oct 24, 4 PM

Consider the scenario: you are a store manager or owner in the Civic Center area. It is 3 PM on a busy Saturday and your sales people are interacting with several customers. You feel the earth move Merchandise falls to the floor. The power goes out and so does both your land line and cell phone. One of your staff is injured by falling items. People are screaming, kids are crying. Outside there is panic and chaos and you see property damage and some injuries. To your left there is a small fire. THERE ARE NO FIRST RESPONDERS as they are reacting to their own situation and are overwhelmed by the area-wide destruction. What do you do? Learn how to prepare for emergencies and what to do when "the bad thing happens." The presentation will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Dukes Malibu.

The Emergency Preparedness Network is a joint effort between the Malibu Chamber of Commerce and the City of Malibu’s Emergency Services Department, created to promote threat awareness and disaster preparedness and to improve disaster survival rates throughout Malibu’s business community.
