Blog: Man Travels on Horseback Through Malibu on Cross Country Tour

A gentle soul and his three horses rode through Malibu Thursday. While horses should never be on PCH, today proved to be an exception as Doc Mishler headed east on horseback through the center of Malibu trailing two of his pack horses behind him.

This was a man with a mission, traveling from Montana to Washington, DC with a detour through California. Doc is a character from the Old West and he seems to march to his own drummer. He survived cancer, a hip replacement and a quadruple bypass, but that wasn't going to stop him from getting in the saddle for his long journey.

His horses are well cared for and in good shape, he makes frequent stops and endears himself to those with whom he encounters along the way. Godspeed, Doc, until you return home - wherever that may be.
