Lloyd Phillips died suddenly of a heart attack at a Malibu home Saturday night, according to reports.
Phillips, who was 63, is known for his work as executive producer on films such as Man of Steel, Inglourious Basterds and The Tourist, the New Zealand Harold reported.
Phillips was born in South Africa, but grew up in New Zealand, where he worked as a photo journalist and then went onto film school in Britain. He won an Oscar for The Dollar Bottom in 1981 and worked hard to bring work to New Zealand.
