Although Christmas may seem like a race to the finish line, at this point, with one day to go, we all ought to declare the race over. There is nothing more that needs to be purchased. We have everything we need, truly, right under our own roof. Just take a breath, take a moment to contemplate, and look around at your abundance.
What we all can use more of is holiday experiences, though, and one of those is sharing kitchen time while preparing holiday foods to celebrate this sweet season.
Following is a selection of easy-to-make Christmas-y foods that you could do right now, today, anytime this weekend or in the coming week. There is no time like the present to make memories.

Nutella Hot Chocolate: This is a shockingly simple recipe, if you want to call two ingredients a recipe. And I do. Best. Hot. Chocolate. EVER!
Peanut Butter Fudge: No candy thermometer needed for this classic creamy fudge recipe. Peanut butter replaces the chocolate for a delicious and rich treat. Cut the pieces small, and share them with all your neighbors—'tis the season to mend any fences that need mending. I warn you, this candy is addictive.
Eggnog French Toast: What is French toast, if not bread soaked in eggs and milk? What is eggnog if not eggs and milk? Substitute prepared eggnog for the milk in French toast, and you’ll have a new standard holiday breakfast. This one is easy and family-friendly. You can even make it ahead and freeze it. Pop a piece in the toaster to thaw and heat the next morning.
Christmas Lights Bites: A fun little half cookie/half candy for the Christmas dessert platter. Kids love to help make these, so put those busy hands to work.
Snowman Pancakes: This one is not so much a recipe as it is a simple idea. Once you look at the photo, you'll be able to do this. Chocolate chips are the buttons and mini marshmallows are the snow. Bacon for a scarf? Absolutely!
: Let's not forget this delicious, decadent ice cream punch that is a centerpiece at Malibu dessert-maker . She let us in on the secret last year, and we're making it again this year.
Merry Christmas to all!
