LETTER: A Thank You to the Community

Organizers of this year's Thanksgiving Community Dinner express gratitude for donations that were used to feed more than 350 people.

Thank you to all those who reached out their hearts to people in need to help feed and provide personal care items, haircuts, clothing, crafts, and music enjoyed by 350 people at the Thanksgiving Community Dinner. It’s remarkable how many locals and businesses pitch in. We applaud you!

Special thanks to: coordinators Kay Gabbard, Eden Ettenger, Isaac Vandor, Isaac Mackie, Susan Kelly, and Linda Fox, gracious hosts Malibu United Methodist Church, sponsor Malibu Jewish Center, and all of Malibu’s houses of worship, hair stylists Hannah Lamonea and Monica Dimmel, the Sposato Family, Bruce Friedman, Oscar Mondragon, Dylan Friedman-Almond, the Cub Scouts, Wonder Years Pre-School, Malibu's public schools, Pepperdine University and Al Sturgeon, Cafe Habana, Lily’s, Spruzzo’s, Pavilions, Chipotle, Mariachi band Agave Azul, bus driver Augustine, and our awesome friend who donates a bus.

Mostly, we thank the many volunteers who have been showing up for 16 years now bearing food and smiles and the volunteers who showed up for the first time ever and worked incredibly hard.

Happy Holidays!

Janet Ettenger, Diane Malecha, Cindy Vandor
