Meet Benson, a 2-year-old blue male Pit bull mix. Mixed with what? The breed is unknown, but what is a certainly is that affection and gentleness are part of the mix. Like most “Pitties,” his most wonderful pastime is simply being with people. That’s it, spending time with his ‘peeps”. He just loves every stroke of attention, tenderness and caring from people and he melts right into you with every ounce of his being.

· He might be housebroken because he waits to go potty until he is outside his kennel.
· He loves to spend time in the real room relaxing, snoozing, chewing on a bone, and snoozing again. He is so relaxed in this living room-like place he has been known to roll off the futon while getting a belly rub.

· He is still young, so he will need some training, especially on leash because he is strong. However, the volunteers have been working on his leash skills and will explain the training methodology and he has come a long way during his time at the shelter.
As mentioned, he may need some additional training and like all dogs he wants to please. He is a sweet young, big boy with lots of energy, but he is smart and a fast learner. Just remember, it’s all up to you.
He will need an owner who is dedicated to giving him indoor time and walks. He will need a yard so he can have time to run and play. If you commit to him, he will commit to you. After all, when you adopt a dog, it should be for life; and a wonderful life it can be! So if you have an apartment, then he is not the one for you, but keep looking at the shelter because there are lots of pups that could be the perfect match.
