Sharks Water Polo Teams Win Big in Weekend Tournaments

The Malibu High Sharks varsity boys team (5-0) beat Ventura High School in the finals to take first place at the Conejo Classic tournament.  The score of the final game was 11 - 10 as Malibu rallied from a deficit in the 3rd quarter.  Junior Owen Franz scored seven goals to lead the Sharks to victory.  Ventura is the six time defending champions of the Classic and they are also ranked #7 in Division 2.

Malibu is ranked #3 in Division 6. On their way to victory the Varsity team beat Cresenta Valley, Thousand Oaks, Anaheim Canyon, Crespi and finished with Ventura. This team has their season goal set on a CIF Championship and the way they are playing, it is within their reach. This is a highly skilled team that is focused, committed and understands that team work makes the dream work. Malibu totaled 65 points on offense.

The Sharks JV team (3-1) battled hard and played great team water polo to come away with a third place finish at the Agoura JV Tournament where their only loss was to the Division 2 Agoura JV team. The Malibu JV team beat Oxnard, Cresenta Valley (D5) and Ventura (D2) and totaled 43 points on offense. This Malibu JV team is on a roll and playing great water polo.
