2 DUI Checkpoints Planned for Malibu This Month

The checkpoints are aimed at reducing the amount of alcohol-related deaths in Malibu.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will hold two DUI checkpoints this month in Malibu.

The checkpoints are set for on Aug. 16 and Aug. 30 at an undisclosed location within the city limits of Malibu between the hours of 8 p.m. p.m. and 4 a.m., according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

Deputies will be checking drivers passing through the checkpoints for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment.

Funding for these checkpoints are provided to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to the city of Malibu, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
