Bicyclist in His 70s Struck by Vehicle on PCH

A bicyclist about 70 years old was airlifted to a hospital today after he was struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway.

The victim was trying to make a southbound turn from Latigo Canyon Road onto PCH when he was struck by a northbound vehicle around 12:30 p.m., said Sgt. Shawn Ruda of the sheriff's Malibu-Lost Hills Station.

The rider's condition was not immediately available.

The crash closed one southbound lane of PCH for about an hour, Ruda said.
