CHP: Cause of Fatal Malibu Crash Still Under Investigation

The green truck went 350 feet over the side of Mulholland Highway.

The cause of a fatal crash on Mulholland Highway in Malibu a week ago remains under investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Mike Ramirez, 34, of Covina was the driver of a green Isuzu utility truck that went off the eastern edge of Mulholland Highway north of Pacific Coast Highway on July 19, CHP Officer Joe Saunders said.

The green truck went 350 feet over the side of Mulholland Highway, Saunders said. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, Saunders said.
