A deck caught on fire in Latigo Canyon today, unnerving Malibu residents, but firefighters put it out before it was able to spread.
Firefighters were sent to Mar Vista and Ocean View drives at 4:07 p.m. on reports of a propane tank and a tree burning or brush fire, County fire Inspector Tony Akins said.
Arriving firefighters found a deck on fire and had it out at 4:41 p.m., he said.
