Weeks after Jamzilla, should we dub it Jamanyahu?

South bound Pacific Coast Highway is backed up for approximately 5 miles between Malibu Canyon and Topanga Canyon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

It's all because of a Southland visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Commuters should expect a one and a half hour delay, states an LASD news release.

"It is recommended to take Malibu Canyon or Topanga Canyon to avoid traffic on Pacific Coast Highway," says the release.

Ironically it was Ash Wednesday and OLM among others was trying to have a 7:30 pm event to kick off Lent. Christians got the short end of the stick. When I was on public safety commission Caltrans always cried poor. I'm sure the host didn't pay CalTrans for any of the trucks, etc. SHAME on the city council for not warning us weeks in advnace.

Everyone needs to go to the city council meeting on Monday and raise hell with them for allowing this type of an event to inconvenience the population of Malibu and surrounding areas for a bunch of rich people who are not full time residents of Malibu or even US citizens. Malibu has had US presidents stay in Malibu with much less inconvenience to the local residents why do these people get special treatment? Malibu should enact an ordinance that these for money events where people are charged for attending an event in Malibu the City gets a 25% or more tax on the proceeds that will go to a cause in the city that benefits everyone. This event at $5000 a person would have net the city a good amount of money...

Agreed!!! I was returning from NYC and got caught completely unaware!! This type of event does not need to cause this kind of pain for ordinary citizens!
