Malibu Search and Rescue Team Locates 3 Lost Mountain Bikers

The operation takes place in western Malibu near Kanan Dume Road.

Three mountain bikers got lost on a trail in western Malibu near Kanan Dume Road Saturday but were safely located by the Malibu Search and Rescue Team around 6:30 p.m., according to Lt. Josh Thai of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

The bikers phoned 911 after getting lost and the team was able to locate them by tracking the cell phone call, Thai said.

"We are in good communication with them and they are not in any danger," Thai told Patch before the bikers were located. "It's dark and they lost track of where they are, but they didn't want to go any further so they called. The team has all the gadgets they need to locate them."
