Man Kidnaps Wife at Gunpoint on PCH in Malibu Before Raping Her, Police Say

Rudy Zendejas is arrested at 5:45 p.m. Saturday by the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Department.

A Los Angeles man was behind bars today on suspicion of kidnapping his wife at gunpoint in Malibu and forcing her to drive him to Los Angeles where he raped her in her car, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

Rudy Zendejas, 27, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, in Los Angeles, said sheriff's Lt. Josh Thai, of the Malibu/Lost Hills station. Zendejas had a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his possession at the time of his arrest, Thai said.

Zendejas allegedly kidnapped his wife at gunpoint as she left work near the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Thai said.

He allegedly forced her to drive to a poorly lit residential area near Gramercy Street in Los Angeles where he raped her in the car, Thai said.

The victim then was forced to drive the suspect to Western Avenue and 2nd Street, where Zendejas fled, the lieutenant  said. The unidentified victim then drove home and reported the crime to authorities, Thai said.

Zendejas was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff's station on kidnapping with the intent to commit rape and spousal battery, Thai said.

He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, Thai said.

You're Welcome
Bill Payment August 01, 2012 at 09:03 AM
No. Not even. Women need to learn to take responsibility for their choice of mates. She got what she deserved.
Jack August 01, 2012 at 01:58 PM
Erik, you mad? You sound like a child with your crying. You insult people by making fun of them attending the second best university in southern california...okay. Did you go to CalTech? Otherwise you went to a worse school. You sound very jealous of people who did go to USC. Then you try to lecture someone about their comments yet you are doing the exact same thing you are telling him not to do. You need to get laid or something, this pent up anger towards someone you never met is just pathetic
rmrinlasvegas August 01, 2012 at 02:01 PM
Responding to bill payment....WOW...u really feel that way?
Oh...boy... August 01, 2012 at 02:16 PM

Ken Sonntag August 01, 2012 at 02:22 PM
3 min. to process this? You have bigger problems than the loss of time……..
Ken Sonntag August 01, 2012 at 02:28 PM
Good reply, but please…..don’t talk bad about my Trojans…..By the way, I’m going to UCLA today, can anyone spare a handicap placard?
Ken Sonntag August 01, 2012 at 02:31 PM

Ken Sonntag August 01, 2012 at 02:34 PM
Yes Nancy, but I’m afraid that I may be outnumbered.
spunky August 01, 2012 at 02:52 PM
Really....a good wife?.....she got what she deserved? I don't understand the fellings behind either one of your comments.
Cassy Samel August 01, 2012 at 03:54 PM
There is something wrong with you if you have to kidnap and rape your own wife. I don't know whether to feel bad or laugh.
jon August 01, 2012 at 10:20 PM
They were probably role playing and she forgot the "safe word".
Mike Carter August 02, 2012 at 06:17 PM
Same as it always has - unfortunately. But the legislators with their 24/7 State Police bodyguards are sleeping well at night.
Mike Carter August 02, 2012 at 06:19 PM
Absolutely - I hope he gets the same thing in prison on a regular basis.
SheSharpShoots August 02, 2012 at 07:02 PM
Married or not, 'No' means no. Being married does not mean your mate is to be subservient. He will get what he deserves and one day if you act upon your thoughts BillPayer, you will too.
Eric Karich August 02, 2012 at 07:35 PM
So your response to the first comments is that "they are dumb". Sanctimonious, check. Ad hominem attacks best he can do, check. Must be a lib.

My heart goes out to her and I'm so glad she survived...yesterday in FL, a good friend of mine...someone I grew up with was kidnaped by her estranged husband and then he murdered her and killed himself...there needs to be more dialogue about DV and how to make things safer for women...
Janessa Roberts August 02, 2012 at 09:06 PM
Wow--not only was this a terrible crime, but the casual response of so many of you that she may have deserved what she got is horrifying. There is nothing like realizing that the person who pledged to be by your side for the rest of your life is now betraying that trust and is harming you in such a dreadful way --it breaks your heart, beyond whatever physical damage you may incur. Sadly, reading these things makes me glad that I never remarried. My heart goes out to her. Domestic violence is real, it is terrible, and we ALL need to take action to stop it.
Janessa Roberts August 02, 2012 at 09:10 PM
Oh..boy... You are an idiot. A "good wife" wouldn't have to be kidnapped or raped???? Are you kidding? Being kidnapped and raped is not a "fun" game--it is terrifying and a betrayal of trust. Where do you get these ideas?
Janessa Roberts August 02, 2012 at 09:18 PM
Yes, I do feel bad for the victim. What a horrifying experience. Bill Payment--please just go away. You have revealed yourself to be lacking in compassion and an idiot, and are simply a feckless dolt.
JAGR August 03, 2012 at 07:11 AM
I agree with you Janessa...
Asim August 03, 2012 at 07:50 AM
You must have GONE to USC. Now tell us, Erik, which run-down state college are you a proud graduate of?
Your mom August 03, 2012 at 02:32 PM
Hey jack, anybody with money can get into USC...it's a private school that will accept anyone with money, doesn't make It the second best school in SoCal....go get urself a education...
Glenn E Grab August 03, 2012 at 03:14 PM
Eric....you must have "went" to USC?.....you must have been educated in LA County Jail...
lisa michelle August 03, 2012 at 05:50 PM
@ spunky: Maybe she wanted out of marriage cuz she started seeing warning signs of an abuser and he couldn't handle that. This act doesn't mean she was a bad wife ....this rapist obviously lost control in his mind and he went for situation cuz he is a scum bag.
JAGR August 03, 2012 at 07:25 PM
My friend left her husband cuz he was an abuser and he showed the world that he really was an abuser cuz he kidnaped and murdered her....this last prolly left her husband cuz he was an abuser and he proved to the world he was cuz he kidnaped and raped her....how many people break up everyday and every body survives? These men are abusers and can't stand the fact that they lost control over their victims...they did what they did to gain control again...that is my take on it...they are sick individuals who prolly have at the very least a borderline personality disorder...i can't imagine spending all those years with a person that will eventually become your killer or rapist...I'd rather be alone than deal with that....
Dawn Cloud August 04, 2012 at 01:39 PM
You guys are assholes.
Bob Perkins DDS August 04, 2012 at 03:16 PM
I can't imagine that there is anything more demeaning and humiliating and dehumanizing than being raped, by ANYONE. Marriage doesn't give anyone the right to use, under force or feeling of entitlement, someone elses body whenever they get the (urge). Being objectified in any way, by ANYONE, is so very dehumanizing. Some of the comments made regarding this post have been stunning to say the least. Think of how insensitive and subhuman you have to be to force (or even coerce) sex on a woman. Apparently there are a lot of "cavemen" out there in our midst. If I were a women I would do everything I could to empower myself, both physically and emotionally, to prevent these incidents from happening.
Man7 August 05, 2012 at 02:45 PM
When a women says no, then it means "NO" wether it's your spouse our not. I've seen what happens to men who rape women, and children in prison, also to people like "Bill Payment" your a world class piece of shit. I bet your just a punk ass weak ass person who feels big and bad when you victimize someone. Keep away from dark allies. "bill payment"is a BITCH!!
Man7 August 05, 2012 at 02:53 PM
Hey "spunky"how's your"wife"does she deserve too be raped also? Is that how you would want someone to treat your daughter. Good luck
