Man Suffers Injuries in Plunge Off Las Flores Road

The man was taken to a hospital in Santa Monica.

A man suffered moderate injuries Wednesday following a plunge over the side of Las Flores Road in Malibu.

The attempted suicide was reported about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Las Flores Road about one mile from Pacific Coast Highway, according to Lt. Jim Royal of the Lost Hills/Malibu sheriff's station.

L.A. County firefighters quickly responded to the scene and helped the man to safety, Royal said.

The man fell at least 150 feet down the canyon, but the slope was angled at 45 degrees, the lieutenant said.

He was taken to a hospital in Santa Monica, where he will be treated for complaint of pain to his back and multiple scrapes.
