A traffic accident prompted lanes in both directions of Pacific Coast Highway to be closed early Thursday evening when a single vehicle struck at least one pole, leading to live electrical wires on the road.
The closure was east of Las Flores Canyon Road on PCH in Malibu just before 7 p.m., according to Lt. Josh Thai of the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.
The female driver of the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted by helicopter to a medical center.
Southern California Edison was on the scene quickly, and 12 minutes after the Malibu's Emergency Operations Center alerted residents of the closure, it announced the road was reopened.
According to Edison, no power outages were reported in the area.
