Pepperdine President's Son Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Christopher Benton pleaded no contest Sept. 7 to one count each of making criminal threats and possession of a firearm by a narcotic addict.
The 27-year-old son of Pepperdine University's president was handed a two-year state prison sentence Friday for threatening his father.
Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Karen Nudell imposed the term on Christopher Andrew Benton, who pleaded no contest Sept. 7 to one count each of making criminal threats and possession of a firearm by a narcotic addict.
Three other counts were dismissed as a result of his plea. Benton, son of Pepperdine University President Andrew K. Benton, was arrested Aug. 23 by Los Angeles County sheriff's personnel at the Malibu campus, one day after threatening his father during a family argument, authorities said.
