UPDATE: Utility Pole Blocks Latigo Canyon Road in Malibu

Wind gusts between 60 to 70 mph are expected in the Malibu area through Sunday.

Santa Ana winds toppled a utility pole on Latigo Canyon Road two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Southern California Edison and Verizon were on scene, according to the city of Malibu. One lane was opened about 5:15 p.m.

Latigo Canyon Road will be closed for several hours.

Earlier in the day, a Malibu Patch reader sent a photo of a leaning utility pole.

The pole came down as Santa Ana winds were blowing in the area.
