Sheriff's Mounted Posse Seeking Volunteers in Malibu

The mounted posse also represents the sheriff's department in parades and at community functions.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station is calling on the equestrian community of Malibu get involved with its mounted posse program.

Residents with a horse, horse trailer or tow vehicle are being encouraged to apply to become a reserve deputy and civilian volunteer, according to sheriff's Deputy Michael Selnick. 

Posse members support the sheriff's department by patrolling rural trails, shopping malls and beaches in the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station's territory, which includes the communities of Malibu, Agoura, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Westlake Village, Chatsworth, Topanga and West Hills. 

The mounted posse also represents the sheriff's department in parades and at community functions.
