Two Teens Escape from Probation Camp in Malibu

One was found, but another is still on the lam.

One of two teens who escaped today from a juvenile probation camp in Malibu was quickly taken into custody, while the other remained at large.

The pair, whose names were withheld, escaped from Camp Fred Miller at 12:05 p.m., said Lt. Michael Williams of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

Sheriff's deputies used helicopters and dogs to search for the escapee, but the search was suspended at 6:15 p.m., Williams said.

The boy who remained at large was described as 17 years old, black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 155 pounds, wearing a gray shirt and green pants.

It was determined that the boy likely got a ride from the Malibu area.
