UPDATED: Woman Hit Crossing PCH in Palisades, Highway Re-Opened

PCH is shut down between Sunset Boulevard ad Temescal Canyon Road.

UPDATE AT 9:16 A.M.:  All lanes northbound and southbound PCH are open. Traffic is moving slow but smoothly.

UPDATE AT 8:49 A.M.: Soutbound lanes on PCH are now open. Northbound lanes on PCH are still closed at this time.

UPDATE AT 8:36 A.M.:
  Traffic is being detoured through the Palisades to get around the closure, City News Service reports.

Pacific Coast Highway in both directions will be shut down for three more hours between Sunset Boulevard ad Temescal Canyon Road after a vehicle hit a pedestrian trying to cross the road, Palisades Patrol reports.

The accident in the 17000 block of Pacific Coast Highway happened about 3:30 this morning, according to City News Service. 

A woman in her early 20s was last reported in critical condition, on her way to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Palisades Patrol reported.

Traffic is backed up northboun PCH from Bel-Air Bay Club to Temescal Canyon, according to Palisades Patrol.
