Planned PCH Closure in North Malibu Canceled

Caltrans will reschedule maintenance of the cliffside area between Las Posas and Deer Creek roads.

On Wednesday evening, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) canceled its planned closure of Pacific Coast Highway between Las Posas and Deer Creek roads on Thursday, City News reported.

The highway had been scheduled for alternating closures in both directions between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for cliffside maintenance.

According to Caltrans, workers planned to use helicopters to install rock drapery (netting) on the hillside overlooking the highway to prevent falling rocks.

Malibu Patch will post a new story when the maintenance is rescheduled.
