Two purchases at Carbon Beach by billionaire Larry Ellison prompted Forbes Magazine to include Malibu in its list of Biggest Billionaire Home Sales of 2012.
Ellison, who has an estimated worth of $41 billion, purchased Yahoo Chief Executive Officer Terry Semel's Carbon Beach estate in September for $36.9 million and Jerry Bruckheimer's Carbon Beach home for an undisclosed amount.
Forbes Magazine reported that the world's richest snatched up real estate in areas with "coveted addresses, stellar views, and security-enforced exclusivity."
In Los Angeles, there were 16 sales of homes for more than $20 million, especially in the areas of Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Beverly Hills and Malibu.
Ellison also made the list for his purchase of a controlling stake of the Hawaiian island Lanai for as much as $600 million.
Ellison owns as many as a dozen properties along Carbon Beach, including a restaurant that was recently remodeled and opened as the upscale Japanese eatery Nobu.
