Malibu High School to Put on 'The Laramie Project'

The play follows the aftermath of the 1998 murder and kidnapping of Matthew Shepard, who was found tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming.

Malibu High School will put on a production of "The Laramie Project" later this month.

The play begins Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and continue at that same time Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23. An additional showing is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.

The play follows the aftermath of the 1998 murder and kidnapping of Matthew Shepard, who was found tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. 

The play was written by members of the Tectonic Theater Project, who went to Laramie, and over the course of the next year, conducted more than 200 interviews with people of the town. 

Reserved seats for The Laramie Project are $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors and can be purchased online. The play has a rating of PG-13.
