MHS Sophomore Named Tri-Valley MVP
Caroline Peitryzk will compete in the CIF Cross Country Division IV Preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College.
Malibu High School sophomore Caroline Pietryzk was named the Tri-Valley League Most Valuable Player on Thursday, at the TVL Championships at Lake Casitas.
Pietryzk finished second (18:24) to Emma Flemming (18:18) of Oaks Christian in the three-mile race, but earned the MVP award based on points accumulated over the three league contests.
Pietryzk was also named to the First-Team All-Tri-Valley League and was the only individual in the league to qualify for the CIF Championship meet. In order to earn an individual berth at the CIF meet an athlete must finish among the top six in his or her race and not be on one of the three CIF qualifying teams.
