Principal Says Bibles Passed to Students Not Part of Malibu High School

A handful of people handing out Bibles outside of Malibu High School were not affiliated with the school, MHS' principal said Friday.

The Bible distribution took place on the public sidewalk not on MHS property, Principal Jerry Block said in a statement.

"Since the public sidewalk is not Malibu High School property, these individuals have a first [amendment], [constitutional] right to distribute the bibles," Block wrote. "The administration remained out front to make sure that our students were not [harassed] and that the distributors did not step foot on to school property."
