Malibu Library Grand Opening
On Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 11 a.m., the City of Malibu and Los Angeles County will hold the grand opening of our newly renovated Malibu Public Library, which has been undergoing a $6 million renovation for the past few years. The grand opening celebration will include several festivities including an exhibit of typewriters previously owned by Ray Bradbury, John Lennon, George Bernard Shaw, Theodore Kaczynski (aka “The Unabomber”), Ernest Hemingway and Andy Rooney, among others.
The grand opening of the library is one of many events around the Cross Creek area that will take place April 22 (Earth Day). Heal the Bay is holding a beach cleanup at Surfrider, local nonprofit Cornucopia is holding a big farmers market next to the library, and the City of Malibu is also holding an Earth Day celebration at Legacy Park right across the street. It will be an action-packed day. Please join us!
