Former MHS Water Polo Player Receives All American Recognition

Carter Baldwin, who graduated from Malibu High School in 2009, was honored this week with an All-American nod for his career at California Lutheran University.

Carter Baldwin, a 2009 Malibu High School graduate, has earned an All-American nod after leading California Lutheran University's water polo team with 58 steals.

Baldwin, who was honored along with teammates Dejan Novakovic and Danny Mock, drew 48 ejections, scored 34 goals, dished out 28 assists and recorded 10 field blocks in his four years at CLU.

Baldwin has his name in the CLU record books numerous times, including for steals, now holding the third and fourth best single-season performances with 58 and 53 in 2012 and 2011, respectively. He is tied for fourth in drawn ejections in a single-season with 46 and moves into sixth with his 28 assists in a single-season.

Baldwin finishes his CLU career ranked second in career steals (184), fourth in assists (75), fourth in drawn ejections (101), and ninth in goals (88).

He was a two-time All-SCIAC recipient, garnering First Team in 2012 and Second Team in 2011, for the Kingsmen.

Baldwin began his career with Malibu Water Polo Foundation as a youth player then went on to play high school polo at Malibu High where he was named MVP 2009 Tri-Valley League and a three-year all 1st team Tri-Valley selection. He holds the Sharks records in steals and assists.
