Girls Club Team Finishes Third
Malibu girls AYSO soccer team finishes strong at state tournament.
In only the fifth time in history, Malibu sent one of its soccer teams to the State Championships, held this year in Cathedral City, CA.
Competing amongst the best of the best, the girls AYSO Extra G14 team battled through rain, strong winds, and injuries.
And with only 11 players and no substitutes during play, Malibu beat an extremely well-prepared and top seeded Valencia team 1-0. The girls also faced a highly ranked Corona, CA team and tied 1-1 after double overtime.

The Malibu girls are honor student-athletes who have been playing soccer together for many years, bringing home an impressive third place California State Finals title.
