Malibu High Equestrians Excel in Season's First Show

The  equestrian team began the 2011-12 season with a strong performance Sunday in a show at Hansen Dam Equestrian Center in Sylmar. Malibu placed fourth in a competition that included 66 teams. Ede Bell Crowder won in the Junior Varsity Dressage Division and Renie Walczuk was the reserve champion in the Novice Dressage Division. 

This season's squad is the largest ever with 19 athletes from grades seven through 12. Malibu competes in the Interscholastic Equestrian League against 65 other schools from throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The next show is Dec. 4 at Hansen Dam.
