Malibu High Tennis Continues CIF Run

It was a group effort on Monday at , where the  girls varsity tennis team beat San Lui Obispo 10-8 in the second round in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 tournament.

Malibu's No. 1 doubles team of Raven Odian and Rachel Purewal were the top scorers by sweeping their three doubles sets. Talulah Daly and Emma Sittig won two sets and Maddie and Elena Clarefield had a key win at No. 3 doubles.

The singles players faced stiff competition as they battled San Luis Obispo senior Tori Troesch, who is headed to the University of Portland on a tennis scholarship, and swept her three sets. Britta Mosser won two of three sets, Lauren Louks won one set and Ilana Oleynik won a set.

Malibu will play again today against Valencia High at 2 p.m. at Pepperdine's lower courts. The community is encouraged to come out and cheer on the Sharks.
