Malibu High Water Polo Stays No. 2

The Sharks hold their spot in this week's Division 6 boys rankings.

There is no change at the top of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 boys water polo rankings this week. , which was No. 2 in the preseason poll, remains second behind Beaumont.

Malibu, the defending Tri-Valley League champion, is coached by Mike Mulligan and opened the season at the Conejo Valley Tournament last weekend. The Sharks will travel to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame for their nonleague game Wednesday.

Defending Division 6 champion Rio Mesa dropped from No. 3 to No. 4 in this week's poll, swapping places with Oaks Christian. Tustin held at No. 5 and Temescal Canyon moved up to No. 6, dropping Oxnard to No. 7. Rounding out the Top 10 are Placentia Valencia, Katella and Western.

Malibu lost to Rio Mesa, 9-4, in the section championship last fall. In the winter, the Sharks' girls team also reached the finals, losing to Warren, 8-7.
