Malibu Swimmer Qualifies for Olympic Trials

Malibu High senior Jordan Wilimovsky will compete in the 1,500-meter freestyle.

Jordan Wilimovsky, a senior at , will have a shot at making at the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. The swimmer qualified for the Olympic Trials with his performance last week in the 1,500-meter freestyle at the Washington Open in Seattle.

Wilimovsky swam the race, the sport's longest in the pool, in 15 minutes, 51 seconds. The qualifying time for the trials, which will take place June 25 through July 2 in Omaha, is 15:53.59. The top two finishers in the finals of each event at the trials will get to compete in the race at the Olympics in London.
