Sharks Baseball Wins 12-5 on Opening Night

Noah Simon pitched four innings for his first win of the year and Chase Lambert struck out four batters in final two innings to close the game out.

The Malibu High School Sharks baseball team notched a 12-5 win in its season opener under the lights at Jackie Robinson Field in Pasadena.

After being down 4-1 in the fourth inning, the Sharks put up 11 runs in the final three innings to defeat Maranatha High in the first game of the Southern California Invitational.

Freshman Ezra Allen doubled as part of a three hit game and drove home three RBIs, while sophomore Bronson Bard, juniors Lambert and Chris Falk and senior Frank Thomas all had two hits and two RBIs a piece. Nick Anthony led off the big fifth inning rally with a hard single to center and he scored three runs on the day. Riley Mcmillin pitched a scoreless fifth before giving way to Lambert.

The Sharks are now 1-0 and will face Sierra Canyon in the next game of the tournament Tuesday night at Birmingham High School.
