Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Malibut Patch surf report. Well, it's looking like another day of dismal waves. So, definitely don't be bummed if you can't get out there!
The conditions are starting off mostly clean and glassy, with a very minor dose of west/northwest swell in the water. That recipe is making for some pretty gutless and dumpy little lines, with not a lot to offer.
Most spots in Malibu are hanging in the ankle- to knee-high range, with the focal points pulling a few thigh-high plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides ... at 8:54 this morning it climbs way up to a 5.7 high, which is going to have many spots pretty swamped or even shut off mid morning. Your best bet ... wait for that tide to turn around and drop a bit. It eventually drains out to a negative 0.6 low at 3:42 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
