Waves Win With Half-Court Basket at Buzzer

The  women's basketball team beat West Coast Conference rival University of Portland in dramatic fashion Saturday in Malibu at Firestone Fieldhouse. With the score tied at 60 in the final two seconds of the game, junior guard Shay Cooney-Williams stole an inbound pass from Portland, and then sunk a half-court shot to win the game as time expired.

The Waves (8-7, 3-1 WCC) tied the game just seconds earlier with a three-pointer by senior guard Katie Menton. She also hit a three-pointer with 32 seconds left in the game to cut the Pilots' lead from four to one.
