Another Slap In the Face of Residents from the City Council

The City Council does it again - stifle your complaints because the Council doesn't care what you think.

What is it about the current City Council that allows them to think that they can do just about anything they want event though the majority (yes the vocal majority - those who do not speak up, do not count) are opposed.

I give you the ridiculous land swap - giving away our precious Charmlee Park, a buffer against fierce fires and a truly wonderful gem, for more weed filled Bluff's Park.  Did they even ask the state if we an take over Bluff's Park as I loudly and repeatedly asked them to do?  Why give up one when we could easily keep both?

At the November 12th City Council meeting, the council will give away the park.  Agenda item 5A.  Skylar will be absent but on teleconference which has shown not to work in the past.

Proposed Bluffs Parkland Swap for Charmlee Wilderness Park and Settlement of Pending Lawsuit Over the Uses of Ramirez Park
Staff recommendation: Consider the proposed land swap of Charmlee Wilderness Park for approximately 83 acres of land adjacent to Bluffs Park and the settlement offer to resolve the pending lawsuit over the uses at Ramirez Canyon Park (Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy v.
City of Malibu, LASC Case No. SC 92212), including whether to approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the proposed Conditional Settlement Agreement and Release and the proposed ground leases between the City and SMMC/MRCA. Staff contact: City Manager Thorsen, 456-2489 ext. 226

What a crock...
