Building on my about the amount of alcohol being consumed at Paradise Cove, legally and illegally, I am very concerned that has filed an appeal against the ruling by the planning commission that said no to the owners selling alcohol. The staff report for the July 23 City Council meeting supports the denial of a permit.
I am not a teetotaler, by the way. But, we do not need more people buying alcohol on PCH. I see the day laborers buy beer at the convenience market at Busch and drive home on PCH, the homeless buy it and go into the canyons, some beach goers sneak it in in their coolers, and drunk drivers regularly make their way up and down PCH. There is plenty of alcohol being offered everywhere in Malibu to serve the needs of the community and visitors.
What's disturbing is the dearth of letters to the city supporting denial of the appeal. I sent an email and a lawyer sent a letter. That's it. Where is the outcry from the residents opposed to more booze flowing on PCH?

The report is attached to this post.
Please send an email to Lisa Pope at the city and ask for a denial of the appeal.
