What You Can Do When People Speed on PCH

Use www.sttop.net to report bad drivers.

I drive into L.A. each week to meet with my staff at Tellem Grody PR. I also serve on the Public Safety Commission. While I drive, I try to keep my stress level down by listening to books on tape. This week, it is an incredible, horrifying, yet inspirational book called Unbroken about WWII POWs.

I keep a notebook and pen handy to write down scofflaw license plates.  Speeders, tailgaters, people throwing cigarettes out of their windows, 18 wheelers that are not supposed to be using PCH, drunk drivers and bicyclists who run red lights (no license plates although there should be, but I record numbers of cyclists breaking the rules to report at Public Safety).

When I get home, I go to the Sheriff's website called www.STTOP.net.   There, in the comfort of my home, I report bad drivers, drunk drivers, etc.  It's a great service. You should do it too.

Note the license, the car, the color, who was driving (man or woman) and time and date. The deputy in charge will then send a letter to the person in question saying they were seen doing bad things. Someone on Las Flores called in 18 license plates of speeders.

One day this week, I reported one driver. I would have reported two, but I could not get the license plate of the guy this morning who was driving a State Parks vehicle. How dare you? You have no right to speed and tailgate with a taxpayer-funded small truck onPCH and Malibu Canyon. You know who you are. Knock it off.
