Malibu Adoptions Can Save These Lives

Give Tiden and Pumpkin a forever home.

By J. Flora Katz & Andrea Braver

Tiden
Pound for pound Tiden is certainly the sweetest boy in the shelter. Not to mention one of the most unusual. There's no doubt there was a German Shepherd somewhere in his ancestry. He's got the black saddle of the breed. But, that face betrays another pedigree, though we aren't sure just which one.

Needless to say, that smile doesn't care if he's a purebred poodle. It's there for the world to admire. Tiden is a whopping 104 pounds and a handful to walk on a leash. He'd be a big boy regardless, but it's obvious that someone overfed him and under-exercised him.

A bit shy at first, Tiden is still ready to shake your paw with his after a moment or two outside of the cage and he'll come up and lean against you for support as he listens to all the other dogs barking.  He's a boy with a lot of love to give.  Tiden's Adoption ID No. is A1392271.

Pumpkin

She's round and she's orange and she's always got a great big grin.  Hence, the name Pumpkin. This momma dog came in to the shelter with one tiny black fuzzy puppy.

Throughout her stay, even under those conditions with maternal hormones on tap, Pumpkin has been the sweetest, gentlest soul imaginable. She was delighted to get outside into the open air for her photographs but kept an eye on the building where her precious little bundle waited for her return.

Loving, full of kisses, she absolutely charmed us.  Pumpkin has the coloring of a rottie but is a short, squat lady, rather comical in appearance. She's a great age at 2 1/2 years and will undoubtedly lose a few of her 62 pounds once she gets into a home where she will get some exercise and good nutrition.

Pumpkin would be a truly delightful companion for any season. She doesn't want to wait for Halloween but promises to help pass out the treats for you that evening if you adopt her.

Pumpkin's Adoption ID No. is A1390823.
