Dianette Wells, Neighbor

Born and raised in La Mirada, Dianette Wells came to Malibu to raise her children in a semi-rural (no malls!) environment. She worked at a car dealership and a law firm to help pay for college. Of course, upon graduation, she became a full-time mom and has enjoyed every minute of it.

In addition to her love for her children, Wells also loves extreme adventure. In 1998, she joined some friends from Malibu and climbed Mount Whitney. Hooked, she has since climbed the Seven Summits (among others), competed in 12 Adventure and Expedition length races and Race Across America, just to name a few adventures. Wells' future plans include the North and South Poles, a speed record for the Seven Summits and any other fun thing she can think of.

Locally, Wells has been a PTA board member and is one of the founding members of the Cystic Fibrosis Guild of Malibu. In addition to writing for Malibu Patch, she was recently asked to oversee the Sherpa Education Fund, which sends underprivileged children from the Khumbu to a private school in Kathmandu.
