Food writer and recipe developer Dorothy Reinhold has been a writer and editor in Southern California for 32 years. She blogs about "scary good," addictive food with big flavors at www.shockinglydelicious.com, and is an enthusiastic coach to those who would like to be great home cooks. It's easy – start with her tried and true, simple recipes, and you are halfway there! 

She has won 20 ribbons in various pie contests (nine of them for 1<sup>st</sup> place!), has won the Malibu Times Magazine Holiday Recipe Contest (for her Southwest Stuffing), a national potato contest (for her Oven Parmesan Fries), her recipes have appeared in Sunset Magazine, and she was a runner-up in Sunset&#39;s &#34;Thanksgiving in the West&#34; recipe contest. Her recipes have been published in &#34;Taste of Home,&#34; and are now featured on the California Strawberries web page and in their app. She also developed more than 100 recipes for Cut &#39;n Clean Greens, a grower-packager of cooking greens in Oxnard.    

She&#39;s a newspaper veteran, having started her career at the Santa Monica Evening Outlook when she graduated from USC. She did a nine-year stint at the L.A. Daily News (features editor, assistant managing editor), and then spent seven years at the San Gabriel Valley Newspaper Group, as assistant managing editor, managing editor and finally vice president/executive editor.
