Car Falls off PCH Cliff in Malibu

Three people suffered injuries that were not life-threatening in a crash near Pepperdine University.

Three people were injured Saturday night when a black BMW flew off a cliff on the landside of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu near , according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. The injuries were not life-threatening, Sgt. Donald Prince said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Prince said the crash happened at about 9 p.m. The vehicle landed in a ravine just west of John Tyler Drive. Various media reported the car plunged 75 feet. Prince said no official measurement was taken. PCH lanes were closed for about two hours following the crash.

The driver, a man, was flown to UCLA Medical Center. An injured female passenger was also taken to the hospital in the helicopter. A second injured female passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their names were not released. Prince said he did not believe they were Malibu residents.
