Malibu Mom Asks For Help in Finding Missing Son

Jason Bennett's jeep was found abandoned in a remote area of Yosemite National Park.

Los Angeles police asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding a 34-year-old Silver Lake man who suffers from a medical condition.

Jason Bennett last spoke to his mother on June 24 and has not spoken with any family member since then. He has never gone missing before. His vehicle was found in Yosemite National Park in a remote area.

Paulet Ferket, who lives in Malibu, said she wants her son to come home.

"His car, his jeep, was found in Yosemite under very strange conditions," Ferket told Malibu Patch. "It was very wrecked. They searched the area throughly and couldn't find anything."

She said her son took part in the Malibu Arts Festival a few years ago.

According to police, Bennett has been known to take off on camping trips when he becomes upset.

His mother said her son was having some paranoid thoughts for the past couple of months.

"It's all a complete mystery," she said.

He is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

Anyone with information on Bennett was asked to call Detective Saiza of the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
