Monday Essentials: Check Out Live Traffic, Eco Art Exhibit, CineMalibu

Here are five things residents of Malibu need to know this week.

1. Check Malibu Patch's live traffic map before heading out every morning on Pacific Coast Highway.

2. The Malibu Library Speaker Series will continue with a presentation from Mary Lenihan, Curator for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, at the Malibu Library Community Room at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

3. "Eco Art," a juried exhibition of artwork promoting the role of the arts in eco-conscious living, is on display through Aug. 12 at the Malibu Lumber Yard Gallery in conjunction with the Malibu Arts Festival.

4. On Saturday, the city of Malibu will continue the CineMalibu Outdoor Movie Series with a screening of "Madagascar 3" at Malibu Bluffs Park. The movie will begin at dusk with pre-movie activities beginning at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.

5. Malibu Patch is accepting for submissions for a new photo for its home page banner. The current photo was taken by Malibu's Terrell C. Woods at Leo Carrillo State Beach. Send submissions to editor Jessica Davis at jessica.davis@patch.com.
